Quick Guide: Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Why 2FA?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enhances the security of your MUIC Microsoft 365 account by requiring verification through an Authenticator App in addition to your password.
Before You Start
Please prepare:
  • MUIC account & password
  • Smartphone (iOS or Android)
  • Install Microsoft Authenticator from App Store / Google Play
1. Sign In
Enter your MUIC Account followed by @muic.io,
for example: [email protected]
then click Next.
Enter the password for your
Account, then click Sign in.
2.Steps for setting up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
When the security prompt appears,
click Next to begin the identity verification setup.

Install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device (available on App Store/Google Play),
then click Next on your computer.
Pair your account with the app by clicking the setup link
3. Approve Test Sign-In
A specific number will appear on your browser. A notification will simultaneously be sent to your smartphone.
Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone, enter the matching number, and tap Yes to verify the request.

  • Once verified, you will see the "Authenticator Added" confirmation.
  • Click Done to complete the process.
